Soludos on Facebook

Soludos was founded by Nick Brown in New York City in 2010. Nick was unable to find the traditional rope soled espadrilles he had grown up wearing on holiday along the Spanish Coast. Combining the clink of a glass ‘salud’ and the heat of the sun ‘sol’, Soludos was born.

Inspired by our global wanderings, we design timeless footwear expressing emotion through diverse quality materials and color. We started with the espadrille, a staple of Mediterranean style for centuries. We focus on deconstructed, classic design with integrity of materials that allows us to pass on great value to our customer.

The original classic espadrille upper is made from 100% cotton. As the brand develops and grows we have begun to play with lace; denim; suede; calf hair and linen.

Espadrilles have been hand crafted for centuries throughout Spain. Every espadrille made at Soludos has been handstitched using this traditional method. It takes approximately thirty-minutes to hand stitch one pair of Soludos. The time and detail spent makes each pair special and unique. Handmade espadrilles are more cushioned, fit better, last longer, and are offered in a wider variety of styles. At Soludos, we pride ourselves for our use of traditional craftsmanship and natural materials that go into every pair.

The type of jute that we use is not too hard, and not too soft—and this makes Soludos amazingly comfortable. We have spent considerable time on our fabrics and fabric patterns to ensure they are a more comfortable and stylish fit on your foot. We do not compromise on the quality of our 100% cotton fabrics, which let your foot breathe more easily. We also use inner linings to give your foot added comfort. Finally, we use a full rubber cover for the sole that helps in case of a rainstorm. Soludos prides itself with the natural materials used and continues to focus on  reating fashionable and unique footwear.
