Calcea Mentum is a new brand founded by Bootskompaniet.
Our aim is to make classic and timeless footwear.

We don´t want to compromise with quality, but want our products to be durable and iconical, a benchmark of quality and performance.
To create genuine footwear, preferably Goodyear welted, top quality leather and materials are essential.
High quality will make them worth repairing which meets our aim of a product lasting a lifetime. Boots and shoes worn for 10 years shall look better than new ones, thus taking its place in the history of footwear.
We want to make the most comfortable footwear with the very best value for money.

Our first challenge was to develop a curling boot of outstanding quality.
Bootskompaniet togehter with Hans Pettersson, a third generation wellknown shoemaker from Värnamo, decided to develop a top quality curlingboot.

We contacted Henry Sanders, fourth generation shoemaker of Sanders&Sanders, the English firm established in 1873 with a long history of producing curlingboots.
During two years we developed and tested our curlingboot.
The result is a top quality boot with an Vibram outsole and a leather insole, a combination that makes it a bit stiff when new but after some use it adopts to the user. We use the best suede for the upper with a layer of rubber where it meets the Vibram sole. The inside, including the insole, is lined with shearling. To close the boot we have chosen a Riri zip that may be a bit sturdy when new but will be easy to use after a couple of times, and above all it will last!

Developed in Sweden and made in England!
